La Snaha. Communauté familiale et statut de la femme chez les Slaves du Sud
Abstracts
Women have no “patrimonial existence” in the frame of zadruga, but they nonetheless hold a central place in its economical organization. Actually, in this domestic system landed property does not matter as much as labor force; by a wedding, the community can lose one of its female members, but can also win a new one. Consequences are of huge importance for zadrugas survival. The newly-wed is no woman or spouse for her new community, but a sister-in-law (snaha) who plays a peculiar, but not enviable part because of the workload that falls to her.
